The flag of United States of territory of Guam was adopted on February 9, 1948. The flag is dark blue with a narrow red border on all sides. In the center of the flag is the coat of arms, which depicts a proa sailing in Agana Bay. The shape of the emblem recalls the slingshot stones used by the islanders' ancestors and the landform at the back depicts the Puntan Dos Amantes cliff. There is also a coat of arms on the rear of the ornament.
